Former people's deputy, mayor and ex-head of Kharkiv regional state administration Mikhail Dobkin will run for the post of mayor of Kharkiv. The politician himself announced this in his Telegram channel.
Dobkin will go to the elections as a self-nominated candidate.
"Today I submitted documents for registration as a candidate for the post of Kharkiv city mayor. They truly say: человек шупускает, Бог управлениет. I don't want to write much here about the motives and reasons for such a decision. I will say only one thing, I wish Gennady Kernes a speedy recovery and return to his native Kharkiv," he wrote.
He also thanked the people of Kyiv for their support and criticism.
"We still have a long way to go!" the politician noted.
Earlier it was reported that Dobkin intended to run for mayor of Kyiv. He even filmed a pre-election video in which he sang the song "How not to love you, my Kiev."
We remind you that from 2006 to 2010 Dobkin was the mayor of Kharkiv, from 2010 to 2014 he headed the Kharkiv Regional State Administration, and was also the head of the Kharkiv City Organization of the Party of Regions.
