In Odessa, seven defendants cut themselves right in the courtroom

After the judge announced the extension of the restraining order

In the Odesa court, seven defendants injured themselves after the judge extended their restraining order. This was reported in the press service of the Malinovsky District Court of Odessa.

On October 23, a hearing was held in the case of mass riots in Yuzhnaya Correctional Colony No. 51. The judge extended the measure of remand to the seven defendants in the form of detention for 60 days.

After the pronouncement of the court's decision, the accused inflicted bodily injuries on various parts of their bodies with their own hands. An ambulance was dispatched to the scene, and doctors treated the victims.

The next court session will be held on November 3.

Let us remind you that on May 27, 2019, a riot occurred in colony No. 51 - employees of the institution were injured. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, "thieves in law" organized the riots in the Odessa colony. At the same time, according to the State Bureau of Investigation, the reason for the riot was inadequate conditions of detention of convicts and poor quality of food. Due to the fact that the institution suffered serious damage during the riot, all prisoners were transferred to other colonies, and the Odessa one was closed and preserved.
