On the night of July 22, a heavy downpour fell on Odessa, wind gusts reached 20 m/s, as a result, a number of streets in different areas of the city were flooded, and 32 trees were felled. This was reported in the information department of the Odessa City Council.
Despite the systematic work carried out by the employees of KP "City Roads" to clear the storm sewer, its technical capabilities are not enough to cope with the large volume of fallen sediments.
With the onset of bad weather, special equipment was brought to traditionally problematic areas. Employees of KP "City Roads" throughout the night pumped out water and kept the sprinklers in working condition.
As of 07:00, the following streets were flooded: Chernomorskogo Kazachestvo from Peresypa to Solontsevatoy lane, Ataman Golovaty, Shchegolev, Ataman Chepyga, Mechnikova, 132, Nebesnoi Sotny, Vodoprovodnaya (Red Cross district) and Second Zastava.
Traffic along Ataman Golovaty and Black Sea Cossacks is currently blocked due to flooding, so entry and exit to Kotovskogo settlement is temporarily carried out along the Ring road.
On Balkovskaya and Primorskaya Streets, manholes were partially torn out, rainwater streams brought a large amount of sand, rubble and stones. Due to this, the movement of motor vehicles is difficult.
Also, the movement of traffic in the area of Frantzuzsky Boulevard and Seminarskaya Street is difficult.
According to the information of KP "Gorzelentrest" at 07:55, the fall of trees and large branches was recorded at 32 addresses, of which the consequences have already been eliminated at 16 addresses. Specialists of the enterprise began to eliminate the consequences at night, immediately after the rain ended. As a result of falling trees, several cars were damaged.
In addition, tram routes No. 1, 3, 7, 10, 12, 13, 20, 21, 26, 27 and trolleybus route No. 12 were temporarily suspended due to the flooding of sections of the rail bed and falling branches.
Trolleybus route No. 8 runs to Khimicheskoy Street.
