As a result of the fire at the Zaporozhye Regional Clinical Hospital, which occurred on Thursday night, four people died - a doctor and three patients, and two more were injured.
This was reported by the head of the Zaporozhye OGA, Alexander Starukh.
"On February 3, at 23:25 p.m., a fire broke out on the first floor of the five-story building of the medical building in the city of Zaporozhye on Gvardeisky Boulevard, 142, on the territory of the "Regional Infectious Clinical Hospital" of the Zaporizhia Regional Council. As a result of the fire, 4 people died and 2 people were injured," the State Emergency Service said.
For the rescuers who came into contact with the patients, sanitization was carried out at the disinfection post created on the territory of the hospital.
In turn, the head of the Ministry of Health Maksym Stepanov has already left for Zaporozhye.
"Law enforcement officers are investigating the causes of the building's fire, and those responsible for this tragedy will be prosecuted according to the law. Now I am urgently flying to Zaporozhye in order to establish the actual circumstances of the tragedy," Stepanov said.
