Hundreds of thousands of people suffered.

Cyberpolice of Ukraine exposed a gang of collectors who blackmailed debtors from all regions of the country with fake photos of pornographic content. This was reported by the press service of the National Police.

"It was established that there were more than 30 people involved in the criminal scheme. The defendants created two financial companies that provided loans. The company also had debt collectors who blackmailed debtor clients. Criminals used photo editors to create pornographic content with images of borrowers or their relatives. Further, they threatened to distribute such materials and physical violence," the police reported.

It is reported that the participants in the case actually provided credit services, but in case of non-payment, they blackmailed clients. Now offenders face up to twelve years in prison.

According to preliminary estimates, the perpetrators made more than 360 thousand threats to citizens from different regions of Ukraine.

The police conducted 50 searches in the offices of the companies, apartments and cars of the defendants, seized mobile phones, computer equipment, server equipment and "draft" records. Searches were simultaneously held in the Kyiv, Kharkiv, Vinnytsia, and Sumy regions and in the capital.
