The Verkhovna Rada reinstated responsibility for declaring incomplete data and failing to submit a declaration. The parliament supported a compromise bill to restore responsibility for the false declaration of income of top officials.
The corresponding decision was taken by the People's Deputies during the session on Friday, December 4.
Thus, draft law No. 4460-d was supported by 287 people's deputies and 289 as a whole. The draft adopted by the parliament provides a measure of punishment for false information in declarations in the form of restriction of freedom (not to be confused with deprivation of freedom).
If the difference between the declared and real data in the declarations is from 500 to 4 subsistence minimums (from 000 million to 1,135 million UAH), the punishment will be in the form of a fine from 9,08 to 2500 non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens (3000 to 42500 hryvnias ) or public works for a period of one hundred and fifty to two hundred and forty hours, with the loss of the right to occupy certain positions for a period of up to three years.
If it exceeds 4000 subsistence minimums (9 million UAH), liability is provided in the form of fines from 3000 to 5000 non-taxable minimums (51000 — 85 thousand hryvnias) or public service from 150 to 240 hours, or restriction of freedom for a period of up to 2 years, with the loss of the right to occupy certain positions for up to three years.
It is not a matter of deprivation of liberty (prison term), but of the guilty being in an open-type penal institution without isolation from society, but under the conditions of supervision and compulsory labor.
