Today, August 25, deputies of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine during an extraordinary meeting voted for the ratification of the memorandum on the loan from the EU for 1,2 billion euros.
For the corresponding bill No. 0063 "On the ratification of the memorandum of understanding between Ukraine as a borrower and the European Union as a creditor and the credit agreement between Ukraine as a borrower and the National Bank of Ukraine as an agent of the borrower and the European Union as a creditor (regarding Ukraine's receipt of macro-financial assistance from the European Union in the amount of 1,2 billion euros)" voted by 249 people's representatives.
It is worth noting that the memorandum gave rise to numerous disputes in the public sphere. The fact is that in exchange for a loan, Ukraine undertakes to increase the role of international structures in the judicial system, law enforcement agencies, and supervisory boards of state-owned enterprises, partially sharing the management of the country with European structures.
