During the Independence Day parade on Tuesday, August 24, President Volodymyr Zelensky handed out state awards, including the title of Hero of Ukraine.
Thus, soldier Serhiy Bylous and sergeant Maksym Rydzanych were posthumously awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine and the Order of the Golden Star for "personal courage and heroism shown during the defense of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine and loyalty to the military oath."
Colonel Yevgeny Sydorenko received the same awards.
The singer Nazariy Yaremchuk was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine and the Order of the State.
In addition, physics teacher Ilya Gelfgat received the Hero of Ukraine and the Order of the State.
The President also presented other awards.
Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky 3 degrees: Viktor Kokhan, lieutenant colonel - for a significant personal contribution to strengthening the defense capabilities of Ukraine, courage during combat operations and exemplary performance of duty.
Medal for military service to Ukraine:
- Sergey Belyavtsev – ensign;
- Head Dmitry - ensign;
- Mykola Lavrenchuk – sergeant;
- Ratusnaya Elena - captain of the medical service;
- Sergey Rogalsky – lieutenant colonel;
- Vladimir Chubenko is a senior soldier.
The Defender of the Fatherland Medal was awarded to:
- Kartavaya Lyudmila - lieutenant colonel of the medical service;
- Ruslan Chygrinov - sergeant.
The famous athlete, the head of the IOC of Ukraine, Sergei Bubka, was awarded the Order of Freedom.
The Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise 1 degree was awarded to:
- Anatoly Zlenko - Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs 1990-94, 2000-03, posthumously;
- Vasily Kremen - president of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine;
- Vasyl Lazorishinets is the director of the Amosov National Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery.
Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise 5th degree:
- Kikabidze Vakhtang – actor and singer;
- Andrey Shevchenko is the head coach of the Ukrainian national football team 2016-21.
The honorary title "Honored Artist of Ukraine" was awarded by Zelensky to the theater artist Andrey Isaenko, as well as to the singer and songwriter Dmitriy Monatyk.
