The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, signed a decree awarding scholarships to the children of journalists who died in the line of duty. This is reported on the website of the head of state.
According to the document, the presidential scholarship was awarded to Maxim Veremiy (born in 2009), the son of journalist Vyacheslav Veremiy, who died during the Revolution of Dignity in February 2014.
The scholarship also went to Kira Labutkina (born in 2010), the daughter of journalist Dmitry Labutkina, who died during an anti-terrorist operation in February 2015 as a result of enemy shelling near Debaltsevo, Donetsk region.
