Vaccination in Odessa: a medical expert spoke about the risks and mortality

The percentage of mortality from vaccination is incomparable with the percentage of mortality from the coronavirus itself.

Several times a week, reports of deaths after vaccination consistently appear in the news - the recent history of military servicemen in the Odesa region, cases throughout Ukraine and even Europe. Ukrainians are wrong about COVISHIELD, but news also comes from other countries after the introduction of other drugs. Is vaccination dangerous, is it necessary to prepare for it and what drug to choose, to the ElitExpert agency said medical expert Valentina Markevich.

- Let's start with the main thing: is it true that the vaccine can be deadly? Why are cases of death after vaccination increasingly recorded?

- History is ambiguous. Regarding the situation with vaccination - cases of death after the introduction of the second, final dose of the vaccine are registered in different countries in different (by specialties) people. And this concerns not only AstraZeneca. For example, in Germany, a doctor was injected with Rhizer, and the outcome was fatal. This means that, of course, vaccines are different, and it is impossible to state that deaths are recorded from a specific vaccine or in a specific group of people, and representatives of different countries and their expert groups also state that there are always a number of others accompanying circumstances. You cannot die from the vaccine itself. There are only provoking factors that can lead to a fatal outcome - dystonia, the presence of blood clots or a heart attack, and these cases are confirmed.

- In fact, the vaccine is not as dangerous as its possible effect if the person has other diseases or health problems?

- That is, yes, the vaccine does not provoke the appearance of thrombosis, for example. A study was conducted - both the Ministry of Health and the EU did not say that the deaths were directly related to vaccination. These are two sides of the coin - they say that the coronavirus is deadly and it is necessary to vaccinate, but at the same time, the vaccination itself has and will have side effects. The situation is very two-sided. And the percentage of mortality from vaccination is incomparable with the percentage of mortality from the coronavirus itself. They don't say "death from the vaccine", they state "death after vaccination". But, the fact is one: indeed, there are deaths, and vaccination can cause complications. And people need to be told about it without fail, warned about it. And that is why this process must be voluntary!

- That is, it is impossible to force vaccination?

- About 80 people expressed their desire to be vaccinated in "Diya" - great, let it be, but only voluntarily and taking into account all the risks. Every person who goes for vaccination must obtain informed consent about possible complications. This is what the Ministry of Health should do. After all, COVAX obliged the importing states to sign a declaration that there would be no claims against the producers. Accordingly, responsibility is removed at all levels.

- Is it necessary to pass a medical examination before vaccination?

Many people say that there is no difference - it has been sick for a long time or recently, there are antibodies or not, and so on. So, friends, this is the wrong solution. There are a number of contraindications, as before any other vaccination. It is necessary to be examined - you can do a blood test for erythrocytes, leukocytes, platelets, for example, a urine test, blood pressure and temperature will die, in the end. A person who wants to get vaccinated should at least know a little about his clinical picture, it is very important to avoid complications, allergies and other possible unpleasant consequences.

— In your opinion, as an expert, is the CoviShield vaccine a full-fledged, normal vaccine, or is it still intended for "Third World" countries?

CoviShield is the local name of the British AstraZeneca vaccine. It is produced at the Indian Blood Serum Institute.

The third phase of clinical trials of the vaccine is currently underway in India, Brazil, Great Britain, South Africa, Kenya and the USA. However, it has already been approved for emergency use in India and Canada.

Preliminary results of the third phase of research were published in December 2020. The vaccine showed an effectiveness of 70,4%, according to the data of the tests, in which 11 volunteers took part.

In general, there are more than 3 pharmaceutical companies and more than 10 pharmaceutical products operating in India. It ranks third in the world pharmaceutical market and provides approximately 65% of the world vaccine market.

And the Serum Institute of India is considered the largest producer of vaccines in the world and exports its products to 140 countries. From this producer, Ukraine buys vaccines against diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis, their quality is checked in international laboratories of the WHO — and before that there was no panic in the press about this.

- How long does the vaccine last?

It is still too early to say how long it will protect against the infection of COVID-19, since little time has passed since the first observation of the vaccinated. It is possible to estimate the world experience, and it is about the order of seven months — during seven months, immune protection exists. What will happen next is unknown.
