In Ukraine, on September 23, the Mission of the OSCE Bureau of Democratic Institutions and Human Rights to observe the local elections, which are scheduled for October 25, began work. This was reported in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The OSCE mission will monitor the elections at the invitation of the Ukrainian side.
As First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Emine Japarova noted, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine is ready to provide comprehensive assistance to international observers.
She emphasized that for the first time local elections will be held under new conditions as part of the decentralization reform, which is why the country is witnessing an unprecedentedly high level of attention to elections.
In addition, the elections will be held in the conditions of ongoing armed aggression and temporary occupation of part of the territory of Ukraine by the Russian Federation.
