The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, said that vaccinated Ukrainians over 60 years of age will receive a free, high-quality, modern smartphone. The president of the country also promised pensioners a preferential rate for the Internet.
According to him, this is the way to the main goal - access to the Internet for all citizens of Ukraine. After all, not all Ukrainians have a smartphone and not everyone knows how to use the Internet.
"In the spring, we are launching a major state program. All vaccinated citizens over the age of 60 will receive a free, high-quality and modern smartphone, as well as a discounted rate from the mobile operator. This is the way to our main dream — access to the Internet for all citizens of Ukraine," Volodymyr Zelenskyy said during the "Diia Summit 2022".
Zelensky also offered Ukrainians to choose the name of the new program — Babushkaphone, E-grandfather or E-grandmother, E-smartphone.
