The head of the "Servant of the People" faction, David Arahamiya, predicts that in February the Verkhovna Rada will be able to adopt draft law No. 3613 on democracy through a referendum in the second reading and in its entirety.
It is reported Interfax-Ukraine.
"We wanted to vote on the referendum bill in December, but since there are 2000 amendments, it is necessary to work with their authors so that they either withdraw them or do not insist too much on their consideration, that is, do not block the adoption of the law. Because when it was ready, it was possible to vote in December. I think we will accept it in February," the politician told the Interfax-Ukraine agency.
After this law, according to him, there will be initiatives on electronic referendums, on local referendums, as well as the entire package of bills on democracy.
Arahamiya also believes that the Rada needs to develop a model of electronic voting by the end of 2021, at least at the local level.
"By the end of the year, we would like to reach a prototype, at least at the local level, of electronic voting, so that, perhaps, with the help of some kind of application like "Diya", after all, we can come to some kind of this model. Because this is also our program promise - to move to a digitalized process," explained the head of the "Servant of the People" faction.
