From November 8, the educational process in schools will resume in Odessa. Now, until November 7 inclusive, schoolchildren have autumn holidays. They were extended for a week in order to avoid excessive contact between children during the outbreak of the coronavirus epidemic and to give time for unvaccinated teachers to receive vaccinations.
The director of the city's Department of Education and Science, Elena Buynevych, informed about how the city's schools will work in the conditions of the "red zone" and the outbreak of the coronavirus.
She said that from November 8, classes 1-4 of Odessa schools will study face-to-face, however, in each school, on each parallel, groups will be created for those children who will study remotely.
"If parents decide to leave the child at home, please provide this information to the class teacher so that each school has the opportunity to create such groups in a timely manner. We urge Odessans to listen and in today's situation make a choice in favor of distance learning," the official said.
In the primary school, students of grades 5-11 will study remotely. The exception will be only those educational institutions where 100% of the teaching staff are vaccinated.
"After entering full-time education in educational institutions, the measures of enhanced sanitary and epidemiological control are continued. We strongly ask parents to pay attention to the child's well-being in the morning, under no circumstances will they send a child to school or kindergarten with signs of respiratory diseases," said Elena Buynevych.
As for preschoolers, all kindergartens work as usual. But if a sick person with covid is detected in a group or team of educators, such a group is closed and sent to quarantine.
At the same time, the official appealed to the parents, if they have the opportunity to leave the child at home during these stressful days, it is better to do so. If there is no such possibility, kindergartens will work and accept children on the condition that they do not have symptoms of colds or other infectious diseases.
