Defense Minister Aleksey Reznikov supported the legalization of weapons for civilians against the threat of Russian invasion. He made a corresponding statement today at a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada.
Reznikov said that people should have the right to keep a short barrel, in many countries this has been allowed for a long time. But he only stores it, and does not carry it with him in his pocket.
"I am convinced that this needs to be done, because in Ukraine there is no law, in principle, regulating the circulation of weapons. In our country, it is regulated only by departmental acts," said Reznikov.
According to the minister, this increases citizen safety, helps law enforcement agencies, and definitely reduces crime.
