The three largest European airlines refused to stop overnight in Kyiv, changed their flight schedule so that planes and crews stayed in Ukraine only during the day.
The airlines cited the threat of a possible Russian attack on Ukraine as the reason for this.

It is noted that on January 23, Austrian Airlines performed the scheduled evening flight OS 667 Vienna-Kyiv. But instead of an overnight stop at Boryspil airport, the plane immediately returned to Austria on special flight OS 1402. In the morning, the airliner was supposed to deliver passengers from Kyiv to Vienna on regular flight OS 668, but the airline canceled this flight.
In addition, Swiss Airlines canceled the evening flight LX 2290 from Zurich to Kyiv on January 23. Instead, the plane was sent to Kyiv on a special flight LX7390 in the morning of January 24 to pick up the passengers and return immediately.
KLM flights with number KL 1387 from Amsterdam to Kyiv have been canceled since January 22. Previously, they also provided for an overnight stay in Ukraine with a morning flight back.
