The Kyiv Court of Appeal canceled the arrest in absentia of the ex-president of Ukraine, Viktor Yanukovych, in the case of the organization of violent criminals on February 18-20, 2014 during the Maidan and appointed a new hearing regarding the selection of a measure of restraint.

"Appeal complaints of defenders who act in the interests of Yanukovych will be partially satisfied. The resolution of the Pechersk District Court dated May 12, 2020, which granted the petition... on the application of a preventive measure against Yanukovych in the form of detention without the right to bail to be canceled, to issue a new one, which will appoint a hearing in the court of first instance of the petition of the investigator of the first department Sydorenko... on the election Suspect Yanukovych should be remanded in custody," the judge said.
