Almost half (44%) of Ukrainians had to be temporarily separated from their family during Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine. This was reported by the "Rating" Group based on the results of a sociological study.
The largest number of such people is in the east (54%) of the country, the least is in the west (39%).
Among such young people exactly half (50%), among people aged 36 to 50 — 41%.
In addition to being separated from their families, every fifth Ukrainian was forced to leave their town/village during the war. Most of them came from the east. But at the same time, the absolute majority (93%) of them plan to return home after the war.
"The goal - to return home - stabilizes, reduces uncertainty and makes life meaningful, with many meanings that are no longer so relevant," the sociologists explained.
At the same time, only 58% know that their housing is intact, 10% know that it was damaged, and 9% - that it was destroyed. Others do not know what happened to their housing.
In addition, according to official UN data as of March 27, 2022, due to the war, 3,8 million Ukrainians, mostly women and children, were forced to leave the country, another 6,5 million became internally displaced.
At the same time, another 13 million Ukrainians are stuck in war zones and cannot leave.
