Prolonged rains in Odessa led to a significant increase in water pollution on city beaches. Until the stabilization of bacteriological indicators, one should refrain from swimming in the sea, - reports the press service of the Odessa City Council.
"Due to heavy and prolonged precipitation in the period from June 12 to 15, 2021, a large amount of untreated surface water entered the water area of the city's beaches," the city hall said.
In order to prevent the worsening of the epidemiological situation in the summer period and the prevention of waterborne diseases, the Main Directorate of the State Production and Consumer Service in the Odesa Region recommends temporarily refraining from using sea water until further notice.
In addition, the water temperature, which has not exceeded 16-17 degrees in recent days, is not conducive to swimming.
