On the morning of Monday, May 22, 2023, a number of telegram channels and mass media reported on fierce combat clashes on the Russian-Ukrainian border between the Belgorod and Kharkiv regions.
In particular, videos of alleged attacks on a border checkpoint in the Graivoroniv district of the Belgorod region appeared on the Internet. In one of the videos, a tank under the flag of Ukraine enters the checkpoint. There was also a video, probably taken in the checkpoint building itself, showing the body of the slain serviceman. The authenticity of the video has not been confirmed.
At the same time, the governor of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov blamed Ukraine in an information attack on the Belgorod region with a call to panic. He confirmed the shelling of the Graivoroniv district, but said that there were no wounded or killed as a result. According to him, the authorities did not inform about the evacuation of the population.
The Ukrainian military did not comment on these reports.
The armed formation "Russian Volunteer Corps" announced that its fighters have once again raided Russian territory. The corps published a video in which armed men with the RDK emblem pose against the background of signs with the names of the villages of Bezlyudivka, Churovychy, and Lyubimivka. Bezlyudivka is located near Shebekina in Belgorod region, Churovychy - in Bryansk region, there are several villages with the name Lyubimivka in the border regions (in particular, in Bryansk and Kursk regions).
In early March, the RDK assumed responsibility for a raid in Bryansk region, during which its fighters briefly occupied two villages. According to the Russian authorities, there were victims among civilians.
