The conflict in Ukraine has approached a critical moment, and the situation may get out of control, Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang said at the annual press conference, CNN reports.
"Either the fire will stop, the world will be restored, getting on the right path of political settlement, or oil will be added to the fire, the crisis will worsen, the situation will get out of control," the official said.
At the same time, Qin Gang expressed the opinion that sanctions and pressure will not be able to solve the problem, "calmness, reason and dialogue" should help. It is necessary to start the process of peace negotiations as soon as possible and take into account "reasonable security considerations of all parties", the diplomat added.
In addition, he warned against the "reproduction" of a similar crisis in Asia, where "a cold war should not start."
