Russia's war against Ukraine "will end with some kind of negotiations" and the withdrawal of Russian troops — the Pentagon

China has not yet removed the issue of supplying weapons to Russia from its agenda

US Defense Minister Lloyd Austin said that Russia's war against Ukraine will end with negotiations, the starting point of which will be the withdrawal of the occupying forces.

He said this in an interview with the channel CNN.

He noted that Ukrainians are interested in the withdrawal of Russian troops from the territory of Ukraine.

"What the Ukrainians are interested in is getting the Russians out of their sovereign territory. And I think that will probably be their starting point, but I will let the Ukrainians speak for themselves," he said.

According to him, the opportunities that the US provides to Ukraine will allow Ukrainians to "start changing the dynamics on the battlefield."

"As long as Ukraine continues to conduct operations and continues to work to regain its sovereign territory, we will be there with them," he said.

Austin also said that China has not yet removed the issue of a possible arms transfer to Russia from the agenda.

"I contacted my colleague in advance and told him that it would be a very serious mistake if China did this. This will complicate the situation," he said.
