The Odessa Art Museum received the status of a national institution. The corresponding order was signed by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi.
In the document on the president's website, it was noted that "taking into account the nationwide and international recognition of the results of the Odessa Art Museum as a cultural, educational and research institution for the preservation, study and popularization of museum collections, it was granted the status of national."
Now it will be called the Odessa National Art Museum (ONHM).
In addition, in the decree, Volodymyr Zelensky suggested that the Odesa Regional State Administration jointly with the Odesa Regional Council work out the issue of appropriating the museum named after Alexander Roitburd.
And the Cabinet of Ministers is tasked with working out the issue of repair and restoration work in the museum building.
We note that Alexander Roitburd would have turned 60 today.
He fought for a long time for the museum to receive the status of a national institution of culture.
Let us remind you that in September the Museum of Art published an open appeal to the president with a request to give the museum the status of National. The appeal was signed by many well-known figures of the Ukrainian cultural and artistic community.
