In the Netherlands, some deputies want to send Ukrainian refugees home

Holland

Deputies of the Dutch BBB party suggested sending Ukrainian refugees back to the west of Ukraine, as this part of the country "looks relatively stable." It is reported Dutchnews.

According to the newspaper, during the debate on Monday, on the government budget for solving the problems of refugees, Mona Keyser, a member of parliament from the BBB party, made a corresponding initiative.

"We cannot accept everyone. Western Ukraine seems relatively stable to me. Can't Ukrainians be housed there safely?", said the deputy.

At the same time, the representative of the GroenLinks/PvdA political alliance, Julian Buschoff, emphasized that Keyser's proposals are "new and cause for concern." He said it was unclear why the BBB would consider sending people back to a country at war.

According to Dutchnews, Keizer also noted that she would like to know what the authorities' position will be if Kyiv asks to return Ukrainian citizens who may be mobilized for military service. According to her, it may turn out that hundreds of thousands of conscripts have fled abroad, and some of them may be in the Netherlands.
