The US Senate will fail the vote on the aid package to Ukraine, - People's Deputy Ustinov

In order for the aid package to be approved, 60 votes are needed

People's deputy of Ukraine from the "Voice" party Oleksandra Ustinova believes that the US Senate will fail the vote on the aid package for Ukraine, which will be held on December 6. This is what she is about wrote on her Facebook page December 5.

Ustinova noted that the aforementioned aid package initially included funding for Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan, as well as allocation of funds for strengthening the border (construction of the so-called wall on the border with Mexico).

"Democrats decided to throw the border out of the package because they are categorically against it. Now, instead, Republicans will screw up the vote on the whole package.” - wrote the people's deputy.

As Ustinova notes, the Democrats have a majority in the Senate (51), but 60 votes are needed to pass the aid package. According to the deputy, even those Republicans who support Ukraine will vote against the allocation of funds to "put the Democrats at the negotiating table."

"Politics is politics. Therefore, we will not receive the 60 votes that Ukraine has always had in the Senate. I really want to believe that next week the package of all 4 components will be voted by the Senate, and that the lower house of Congress will have time to vote on it "before the holidays", — concluded Ustinova.

In addition, according to her, Zelensky's refusal to speak at a closed briefing in front of American senators is not related to the future failure of the vote, but happened "for other reasons."
