All defenders of Ukraine, who received the title of Hero from the beginning of the military aggression of the Russian Federation and became knights of the Order of the Golden Star, will be provided with their own housing by the state. This was stated by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi during a meeting with Ukrainian military personnel who were awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine and the families of the fallen Heroes.
The President noted that the country is starting to implement an important initiative based on the principle of: "Ukraine protects those who protect Ukraine."
"According to this initiative, everyone who has been awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine since the beginning of the war receives their own housing. Everyone who, defending the state, became a Knight of the Order of the "Golden Star". All without exception." Zelensky emphasized.
According to him, 360 Ukrainians have already been awarded such awards since the beginning of the Russian full-scale invasion. 210 of them were awarded posthumously.
"The state will take care of each of them - and those who are with us, and the families of all those who gave their lives for the country." - said the president.
The head of state also thanked all Ukrainian defenders - Heroes for their courageous rebuff to the interventionists.
"I sincerely thank the families of the victims for their endurance and courage. I sincerely believe that one day the bravery and exploits of every Hero of Ukraine will be known by everyone in a peaceful Ukraine — a Ukraine that won. Which will win", — it is stated in Zelenskyi's address.
During the meeting, Zelensky presented certificates to 12 Heroes of Ukraine and 9 families of fallen Heroes. Certificates for obtaining apartments will continue to be issued.
