The head of the Office of the President, Andriy Yermak, said that the Russians want to create a humanitarian catastrophe in Ukraine through attacks on the energy structure. The meeting with the ambassadors took place in the Club of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and related to the points of the Formula - "Energy security" and "Preventing escalation of war and repetition of aggression".
"Today we touched on an extremely important point of the Formula - energy security. Russia systematically uses energy as a weapon. The Kremlin began to put pressure on Europe by increasing energy prices six times since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, but Ukraine did everything to break the dependence on Russian energy resources, broke Russia's plans. However, the Russian Federation continues its attacks on the Ukrainian energy structure. The aggressor plans to create a humanitarian catastrophe, depriving millions of Ukrainians of access to basic resources during the winter." - emphasized the head of the Office of the President, Andriy Yermak.
He added that Russia receives imported components to bypass sanctions. Thanks to this, the aggressor country is increasing the production of long-range weapons in order to continue destroying Ukrainian infrastructure. In particular, the head of the OP reminded about the recent attack by the aggressor on the oil depot in the Rivne region. In this context, the head of the President's Office noted the importance of preparing the Ukrainian energy industry for the winter period and protecting it from massive Russian attacks.
Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal told foreign diplomats in detail about measures, which Ukraine uses to prepare for the winter period. According to him, in order to ensure energy security, it is planned to create a multi-level protection of energy objects by strengthening them and decentralizing the energy system.
"We are doing projects that no one in the world has done before you and me, because no energy system in the world has experienced such large-scale attacks. In the future, Ukraine will be ready to share this experience so that, if necessary, other countries understand how to act in such scenarios. By the way, this is what we consider a very important element of the Peace Formula for Ukraine - a unique exchange of experience that will protect each and every one of our countries," - Denys Shmyhal stressed.
In general, according to the head of the Office of the Head of State, took part in the meeting representatives of 58 countries, while at the last event 43 countries were represented in the Verkhovna Rada.
"This shows that we are actively moving in search of an appropriate solution to ensure peace in the world," he emphasized.
