Podolyak explained why it is impossible to hold elections during the war

The main reasons

It is impossible to hold elections in Ukraine during the war for several reasons. In addition, it is prohibited by law. Mykhailo Polyak expressed this in on the air program "Breakfast with 1+1" on August 29.

According to him, the main reasons why it is actually impossible to hold elections now are security, financing, and the possibility of voter registration.

"The president looks absolutely realistic, unlike many people who behave quite strangely. They think that there are two Ukraines — one is at war, and the other can do what it has been doing for 33 years, that is, pursue its political careers," said Mykhailo Podolyak.

Separately, it was noted that martial law has been introduced in the country and about a million people are related to what is happening at the front. Accordingly, it is almost impossible to vote on the front line.

"The president is clearly talking about this - if there are observers who can sit in the trenches," said Podolyak.

The second reason, according to him, is the constant attacks of the Russian Armed Forces on Ukrainian cities.

"How to campaign? We do not have a contract, but a mobilized army. People have the right to put forward their candidacies, to conduct certain measures of information response. How can we ensure their rights? We have a huge number of temporarily displaced people. It's not even the 7 million that international organizations are talking about, it's more than 14 million, if we also include the internally displaced," concluded Mykhailo Podolyak.

Another reason is the huge number of temporarily displaced people.

"It's not even the seven million that international organizations are talking about, it's more than 14 million, if we include the internally displaced. How to re-register the voter register in such a short period of time?" Podolyak explained.

And the last reason, according to him, is the question of the price of holding elections.
