A train will run between Kyiv and Prague

The Czech carrier RegioJet is launching a regular train service between Prague, Lviv and Kyiv. The first flight is scheduled for June 11.

For holders of Ukrainian passports, a ticket from Prague to Lviv will cost 229 kroner, to Kyiv 639 kroner. Thus, RegioJet is responding to the high demand from Ukrainian families who want to return to Ukraine, the head of foreign projects, Tereza Ptachkova, said in a press release.

RegioJet passengers will have to change to a Ukrainian train in Przemyśl, because trains with a different gauge run in Ukraine. The train goes from Prague via Bohumin, Katowice and Kraków to Przemyśl and then via Lviv to Kyiv.

The train will run daily. It will depart from Prague after 20:00. Departure from Kyiv will be at 8:30 a.m., and arrival in Prague at 8:55 a.m. the next day.

"We believe that this cooperation with Ukrainian Railways will provide convenient regular connections for passengers, and therefore will help Ukrainians to better communicate with their relatives and friends, help them return home or, conversely, get to work," said RegioJet owner Radim Yanchura.
