The self-proclaimed President of Belarus Oleksandr Lukashenko signed amendments to the Constitution, which regulate the rights of the former President of the Republic and his family. About this the press service of the head of Belarus.
According to the amendments, the former president and his family will retain immunity, lifelong protection and the right to use state real estate.
The outgoing president and members of his family will not be held accountable for any crimes committed while in power. Assets, property, correspondence and the right to lifetime protection remain intact.
In the event of the death of the former head of state, his burial will be carried out at the expense of the budget.
After his resignation, the ex-president himself will become a delegate of the All-Belarusian People's Assembly and a lifelong member of the Council of the Republic.
