The Committee on Security and Defense of the Verkhovna Rada has begun considering the government draft law on improving certain issues of mobilization, military registration and military service. This was announced by the head of the "Servant of the People" faction, Davyd Arahamiya in Telegram.

According to Arahamiya, on January 4, the special committee of the Verkhovna Rada began consideration of a new draft law on mobilization. Discussions with the command of the Armed Forces and representatives of the Ministry of Defense are expected to last several days.

"Deputies from voters have many questions about mobilization, and Zaluzhnyi, Shaptala and Minister Umerov came to the committee for answers. I will report on the progress of consideration of the draft law in the committee."

The day before, the deputy head of the information policy committee of the people's deputy from "Servant of the People" Yevgenia Kravchuk said that the government bill on mobilization will not be submitted to the Verkhovna Rada for consideration in the form in which it was registered.

"We already understand that in this form the bill will not be voted on or adopted. And I think that it will still be a committee version, a profile committee on security and defense issues." she said.

With the new law, the government proposes to parliamentarians to impose a number of restrictions on those citizens who have not fulfilled their obligations regarding mobilization training and mobilization, to increase fines for violators of the rules of military registration and defense legislation, and to deprive them of their liberty for refusing to undergo a medical examination, as well as for evading mobilization

In turn, the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets, stated that some provisions of the draft law on mobilization may contradict the Constitution.
