Russian blogger Olena Blinovska was detained near the border with Belarus in a rented Maybas
when trying to leave Russia, — rosZMI with reference to the SC of the Russian Federation.
It is reported that a criminal case was opened against her for tax evasion in the total amount of more than 918 million rubles (about 11 million dollars) for the period 2019-2021.
"It was established that Blinovska, having received income from entrepreneurial activities in the field of providing media, including through the Internet, services and implementation of training courses, training marathons, not wanting to switch to the general taxation system, purposefully and formally "fragmented" the business, and also involved unidentified persons in the implementation of the criminal scheme," the Moscow Prosecutor's Office said in a statement.
During the detention, flight tickets to another country were found in Blynovska's possession.
"She did not buy tickets for departure from Belarus in advance, so as not to betray herself. She planned to fly abroad from there on the nearest plane in order to leave the territory of the republic inconspicuously," the message reads.
As part of the criminal case, searches are being conducted at the blogger's office and residence.
