France is preparing a new military aid package for Ukraine. It will include hundreds of armored vehicles and Aster anti-aircraft missiles. This was reported by French Defense Minister Sebastien Lecornu, whom he quotes The world.
According to the Minister of Armies, Sebastien Lecorne, France will supply Ukraine "hundreds" armored vehicles, old, but "still working" , and Aster missiles as part of a new series of aid to Kyiv for its war against Russia.
"In order to maintain such a large front line, the Ukrainian army needs, for example, our armored front-line vehicles: this is absolutely necessary for the mobility of troops. This old equipment, which is still usable, will be able to directly benefit Ukraine in significant quantities. We are talking about hundreds in 2024 and early 2025," — said the minister.
As Lecornu informed, France also wants to help strengthen Ukraine's air defense, so it is preparing a new batch of Aster 30 anti-aircraft missiles for the SAMP/T air defense system. These air defense systems are an analogue of the Patriot system.
The minister added that France is developing munitions with remote control. Probably, they can be delivered to Ukraine already this summer.
