The Lithuanian organization Women Go Tech launched a free mentoring and educational technical program for Ukrainian women. About this MC.today the organization said.
About 25 women from Ukraine, Poland, the Czech Republic, Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania will be able to get acquainted with various technological professions, as well as increase their confidence in their own capabilities to hold leadership positions in the industry.
Women Go Tech has been developing mentoring and training programs for women since 2017. Over the past six years, about 11 women have participated in the organization's programs. More than 600 program participants have started their careers in IT or engineering.
This year, thanks to a Google.org grant in the amount of $800, the program is expanding and making an additional focus on Ukrainian women living in Ukraine and the countries of Central and Eastern Europe.
"The region of Central and Eastern Europe has received many refugees from Ukraine, so we want to be sure that we contribute to increasing the integration of Ukrainians into the labor market of the countries where they currently live. The need for employment opportunities is a huge challenge both for immigrants and for residents of our region in general," emphasizes the co-founder of the program Zhydrune Vitaite.
The organization presents the professional mentoring program Acceleration Program and a series of distance classes Discovery Program, which will be held in Ukrainian, Polish, Czech and English. Both programs are free for all Ukrainian women living in Ukraine and EU countries.
Registration will last until March 22.
