World oil prices rose to their highest level since 18 on Tuesday, January 2014.
Thus, the price of Brent oil futures for March delivery on the London ICE exchange grew by 1,76% and reached $88 per barrel — this is the highest since October 2014.
The price of WTI crude oil exceeded $85 per barrel.
As a reminder, oil prices began to fall sharply at the end of November against the background of reports of the discovery of a new Omicron COVID strain in South Africa. Since then, oil prices have been gradually recovering.
At the same time, oil ended last year at the level of 80 dollars per barrel.
According to analysts, by the end of the year the price of oil will remain at a level close to the current one. The main reasons that will prevent the growth of quotations will be an oversupply in the world market and a decrease in demand due to new possible lockdowns in different countries. The minimum value is 65-75 dollars per barrel, the maximum is 70-80 dollars per barrel. The average expected price is $70,72 per barrel.
