The American tech giant Google held a presentation at Google I/O, where it presented many branded gadgets, as well as demonstrated new AI developments.
Android 14
The new version of Android will emphasize artificial intelligence. Google has announced new AI-based features coming to Android 14.
One such feature will be Magic Compose, which will be available in Android's Messages app. Magic Compose will offer the user answers to messages generated by artificial intelligence.
In addition, Google plans to launch a Pixel-exclusive feature that allows users to customize their device's isometric wallpaper using artificial generative intelligence.

Gmail now has an AI assistant that can write a letter on request, choosing the right tone.
The company introduced a collection of AI tools called Duet AI — it consists of a number of generative AI tools for Google applications aimed at automating the workflow. Key features in the Google Workspace ecosystem included:
- Help in writing letters in Gmail will be available not only in the web version, but also on mobile devices. Contextual replies to emails using AI in Gmail. Will appear in Workspace Labs by the end of the month.
- Generation of images based on text description directly in Google Presentation. The feature will launch in Workspace Labs next month.
- Intelligent classification in Google Sheets. Launching in Workspace Labs in the coming months.
- User backgrounds in Google Meet. Launching in Workspace Labs in the coming months.
- Automatic generation of articles on a given topic using AI in Google Docs. Will be in Workspace Labs by the end of this month.
- Editing finished text in Google Docs. A preview for commercial users of Workspace will be available in the coming months.
For most major cities will be available 3D maps, on which you can see traffic jams and weather in real time.
Using neural networks in Google Photos
In Google Photos, the Magic Editor neural network will appear, which will be able to delete objects, change lighting, drag objects and even paint pictures.
A neural network in Google Sheets will be able to create populated tables on a text request.
In addition, the features of the Bard chatbot have been updated:
- Adobe Firefly neural network was added to the chatbot to generate pictures on request;
- Support for 40 new languages, including Russian and Ukrainian;
- The chatbot has learned 20 programming languages and can explain the meaning of a specific line of code;
- Added support for plugins;
- Added image recognition;
- The chatbot will be integrated into most Google services.
Search engine Google will be able to answer complex questions, gathering information from various sources. In addition, AI will help with the search for goods.
Universal translator
Google is testing a new translator that translates videos and lip-syncs the speaker to words they've never spoken. How it works: the service takes a video, for example, a lecture from an online course, originally recorded in English; transcribes speech; translates it; regenerates speech (according to style and tone) in a new language; and then edits the video so that the speaker's lips match the new audio.
MusicLM
A new experimental AI tool that turns text into music. You can, for example, write "jazz for dinner" and the program will create several song options.
Among the devices, Google showed:
- Google Pixel 7A is a new smartphone in the Pixel series
- Google Pixel Fold is Google's first book-style foldable smartphone.
- Google Pixel Tablet is a tablet specially designed for watching videos and playing games.
