The Department of Capital Construction of the Odessa City Council is looking for a contractor who will complete the project of building a staircase to the sea. It should connect Sanatorny Lane with the Health Route in the Dolphin Beach area. The tender for the development of the staircase project was announced at the City Hall on November 4.
The search for a contractor to take on the project is still ongoing. It is known that the area of the plot on which the works are planned is quite large - about 1 hectare.
The designer must examine the slope: conduct geological studies to determine the likelihood of landslides and subsidence. Based on the received data, the drafter will need to think about landslide prevention measures. For example, it will turn the base of the stairs into a supporting and retaining structure.
Also, the designer should think about landscaping along the entire staircase: lighting, benches and urns on the platforms between flights, railings. At the same time, the covering of the stairs should not be slippery.
The City Hall is ready to pay one and a half million hryvnias for the staircase project. The designer will be chosen after November 15. All work is scheduled to be completed by May 31, 2022. The new staircase to the sea should last at least 20 years.
It should be noted that the current descent from Sanatornoy Lane to the Health Route consists of a single flight of stairs, which turns into a dirt path. Going down here to the sea is not very comfortable. Near the descent is the reception house of the Odesa Regional Council.
