The Ministry of Health obliged the region to ensure non-disclosure of any information regarding manufacturers and prices of vaccines against COVID-19 at the request of the purchasing organization Crown Agents.
Deputy Minister of Health of Ukraine Svetlana Shatalova reported this at the briefing.
"Indeed, the order of the Ministry of Health dated February 19 of this year, which distributed the amount of vaccines by region, contains a requirement for the heads of structural subdivisions on health issues of the regions of Ukraine and the city of Kyiv to "ensure non-disclosure of any information regarding manufacturers and/or suppliers, as well as prices for vaccines against acute respiratory disease COVID-19," Shatalova noted.
Such a requirement, according to her, is due to "the provisions of the agreement concluded between the Ministry of Health and the specialized international organization Crown Agents, which is authorized to purchase the vaccine."
"These strict requirements regarding confidentiality are not at all a whim of the Ministry. They are initiated by vaccine manufacturers, and large fines or even termination of contracts are provided for violation of such requirements," added the Deputy Minister.
