The Minister of Health of Ukraine, Maksym Stepanov, wants to tighten control over the observance of quarantine in transport and supermarkets. In addition, he named four levels of the development of the coronavirus pandemic in Ukraine, one of which will lead to a strict quarantine.
The head of the Ministry of Health reported this from the rostrum of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
— The Ministry of Health is contacting the authorities to strengthen control over transport, to the people who are responsible for the transportation of citizens, in the supermarket, in other institutions, — the minister noted.
Stepanov also said that the department is preparing for any situation that may arise during the coronavirus pandemic, including the worst-case scenario.
The Minister of Health named four levels of development of the coronavirus pandemic in Ukraine:
First level, "in which Ukraine is now located." "The daily increase of new Covid-19 patients is 5-000 thousand.
— The healthcare system can withstand such a load, Stepanov assured.
Second level. The daily increase of those infected with the coronavirus will reach 8-000. When the occupancy of beds for patients with Covid-10 will be about 000% in Ukraine.
— We may be at this level in the coming weeks, — the head of the Ministry of Labor noted.
According to him, in this case, the department will increase beds in all medical institutions to the level of 30% of the total number of beds. This is 52 thousand. At this level, beds will also be added in Ukraine outside the Ministry of Health, the number of medical workers will increase in hospitals designated for patients with Covid-19 due to doctors from other departments and due to the conclusion of a contract. Control over compliance with quarantine measures will be strengthened in all territorial units.
Third level. Every day, 11 — 000 new people are infected with the coronavirus. Occupancy of beds for patients with Covid-15 will be at least 000% in Ukraine. A strict quarantine will be added to the second-level measures throughout the country using all the restrictions of the "red zone". There will be a mobilization of all medical workers and other categories of workers with the involvement of field hospitals.
Fourth level: when the resources of the medical system are exhausted. Then every day there will be more than 20 new cases of coronavirus per day. Assistance to patients will be selective. Doctors will decide on the spot who will be saved and who will not.
— We will be forced to apply the protocol and medical triage with the priority of providing medical aid, — Stepanov summarized.
Let us remind you that Volodymyr Zelensky previously announced that he would introduce a total quarantine, if every day, 9500 cases of infection will be recorded.
