Almost 2 thousand doses of Moderna's COVID-19 coronavirus vaccine were destroyed in Boston (Massachusetts, USA) due to an accidental shutdown of the refrigerator in which the drug was stored.

"On Tuesday, January 19, employees of Boston Pharmacy discovered that the refrigerator in downtown Jamaica Plain was out of order. As a result, 1,9 thousand doses of the Moderna vaccine stored in the freezer were destroyed," Kyle Toto, spokesman for the Boston Healthcare System medical center, told the channel.
The representative of the center noted that an alarm system was installed on the refrigerator, but it did not work.
"We are busy replenishing lost doses, there should be no failures in the vaccination program," Toto added.
