Health Minister Maksym Stepanov said that strict quarantine restrictions are not expected to be introduced in spring in Ukraine. On Sunday, January 24, the head of the department announced this on the air of one of the TV channels.
According to him, the government chose the dates for the lockdown from January 8 to 24, based on the lowest activity in the economy.
"This was done so that later, already in April-May, we would be able to pass without the introduction of strict restrictions," Stepanov said.
According to the minister, the ministry's strategy was that now the country is returning to the regime that existed before January 8.
"Then, within 7-10 days, we will see how the situation changes in the regions and plan to move to an adaptive quarantine," he added.
Earlier, Minister of Health Maksym Stepanov said that thanks to the strengthened quarantine restrictions from January 8 to 24, it was possible to stabilize the situation with the epidemic of COVID-19 and relieve the medical system.
However, in Ukraine, the incidence rate of coronavirus is 201,6 per 100 population, which is five times higher than the norm, which is 40 cases.
