10 million hryvnias have been allocated from the Odesa regional budget for compensation to producers of bread and bakery products in order to reduce the cost of the product by one hryvnia. Such a decision was made today, January 25, at an extraordinary session of the Odesa Regional Council. The funds were allocated within the framework of the "Agrarian Odesa" program.
Companies can receive 1500 hryvnias for each ton of flour of the first and highest grades, which is purchased from a state-owned enterprise and used for the production of mass-grade bread.
Having received help, the producer undertakes to sell a certain amount of bread at a discounted price - 1 hryvnia lower.
The allocated UAH 10 million is expected to be spent in six months - by July
Oleg Muratov, the deputy chairman of Odesa OGA, reported that in 2021 our region received a record harvest of 5,2 million tons.
"The increase in the price of grain led to the increase in the price of flour. The price of flour of the highest grade has grown on average from UAH 11 to UAH 13 per ton in six months. Against the background of rising gas prices, it is impossible to bypass the increase in the price of bread without the efforts of local authorities and the government," Muratov explained.
According to him, because of the above, bread has increased by 2021% since September 17.
