Zelensky will force officials to open their declarations already this year

Zelenskyi promised a law on declarations: The register must be opened now

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, vetoed the law adopted by the Verkhovna Rada, which maintains restrictions on electronic declaration.

"I bequeathed the law adopted by the Verkhovna Rada, which contained restrictions on electronic declaration. I think everyone perfectly understands the reason for this veto. Declarations must be open. At once. Not in a year. The registry should be opened now. It is with this main amendment that the law should be voted on, and preferably quickly," the president emphasized.

We will remind that on September 5, the Verkhovna Rada adopted draft law No. 9534 as a whole on the restoration of electronic declaration for officials, but with one condition - the register was to be opened only after a year.

In response to this, Ukrainians gathered more than 25 signatures on a petition in just one day demanding the president to veto draft law No. 9534 and return it to the parliament to open the register of officials' property declarations.

As previously reported, Ukrainian People's Deputies bought themselves a multimillion-dollar car after a full-scale invasion.
