Today, the XXIV Winter Olympic Games were solemnly opened in Beijing. 91 countries will take part in them. The Ukrainian national team also performed at the opening ceremony under the national flag.
At the opening of the Olympic Games, the Ukrainian national team passed under the words of the Eurosport commentator that "the Ministry of Sports recommended them not to stand close to the Russians and not to make their announcement in Russian. It's amazing."
Ukraine will be represented in Beijing by 45 athletes in 12 disciplines:
- biathlon;
- bobsleigh;
- alpine skiing;
- ski biathlon;
- ski races;
- luge sports;
- skeleton;
- snowboarding;
- ski jumping from a springboard;
- figure skating;
- freestyle;
- short track.
