Today, January 27, security forces are conducting searches in Moscow in the apartments of the Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny, who is currently under arrest, and came to his wife Yulia.
Ivan Zhdanov, director of the Anti-Corruption Foundation, reported this on Twitter.
"They searched Alexei Navalny's apartment in Maryino. Many "heavies" in masks. They started to break the door. Oleg Navalny (brother of Alexei Navalny — Ed.). As part of what business and on what basis, we do not know," wrote Zhdanov.
Later it turned out that the security forces arrived at the apartment where Yulia Navalnaya is located. There, the security forces tried to break down the doors. According to Zhdanov, the search is being conducted under Article 236 of the Criminal Code (violation of sanitary and epidemiological rules).
As a reminder, Navalny was detained at the Sheremetyevo airport on the evening of January 17 immediately after arriving in Moscow from Germany. Since the end of the summer of 2020, he has been in Germany, where he was taken for treatment after poisoning. In December, Navalny was placed on the federal wanted list for violating the terms of the probationary period assigned to him in the Yves Rocher case.
Already on January 18, the court ordered Mayor Navalny to be arrested for 30 days. He is in the Matrosskaya Tishina pre-trial detention center in Moscow.
Last weekend, rallies in support of the opposition were held all over Russia.
