The Transport Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation will send Germany a request for the opportunity to participate in investigative actions with the Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny on the territory of this country, reports "Interfax».
"This request will include a request for the possibility of the presence of investigators of the internal affairs bodies of the Russian Federation, conducting an investigation on this fact, and a Russian expert when German colleagues conduct investigative actions with Navalny, doctors and experts, including when receiving explanations, with the opportunity to ask for clarifications and additional questions," the message reads.
The request will be sent in accordance with the current European Convention on Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters.
As a reminder, Navalny became ill on August 20 on a plane flying from Tomsk to Moscow. The flight made an emergency landing in Omsk, and the comatose oppositionist was hospitalized in intensive care. On August 22, he was transported to Germany for treatment at the Berlin Charite clinic.
On September 2, the German authorities announced that traces of poison from the "Novichok" group were found in the body of a Russian opposition leader. On September 7, Navalny was taken out of an induced coma, his condition has improved.
