Ukrainian Yuriy Zakharev reached the final of the World Boxing Championship, which is held in Belgrade (Serbia). This was reported in the press service of the branch of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine in the Odesa region.
The 19-year-old athlete comes from the village of Andreevka, Belgorod-Dniester district.
In the semi-final, the athlete competing in the "up to 71 kg" category defeated his rival Sarkhan Aliyev from Azerbaijan.
According to experts, 19-year-old Zakharev worked much more actively and interrupted his opponent quantitatively. Aliyev had good single shots - the Ukrainian often neglected defense in favor of attack, but Yuriy hit more often and in the end overworked the Azerbaijani.
The final result is 5-0.
Note that on November 6, Yuri's opponent in the final will be the Russian Vadym Musaev. The Russian boxer did not meet serious opposition from the Albanian Alban Bekyra in the semi-finals. He defeated him by a unanimous decision of the judges.
