The Ukrainian film received three awards at the New York Film Festival

The tape is based on the stories of women whose sons fought for Ukraine in 2014

The full-length feature film directed by Zaza Buadze "Mother of the Apostles" received three awards at the 10th New York International Film Festival - International Filmmaker Festival of New York. This was reported by the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy.

Among almost 900 applications, 100 paintings from 43 countries of the world were selected to participate in the competition program of the festival.

The film "Mother of the Apostles" won in the following nominations: "Best Feature Film", "Best Female Role" (Natalia Polovynka) and "Best Screenplay" (Ratha Makeenkova and Zaza Buadze).

The film is based on the stories of women whose sons fought for Ukraine in 2014. In search of her pilot son, whose plane was shot down over the occupied territories, the mother finds herself in a foreign, aggressive world, where everything is permeated with hatred and suffering. In this hell, she is not only looking for a son, but also, being merciful, changes everyone she meets on her way. And most importantly, she changes herself, finding in herself a truly sacred power.

It should be noted that for the filming of the final scene, Europe's largest scenery of the plane crash of the An-26 transport plane was created.

The tape was created with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy within the framework of the state program for financing patriotic films.
