The musician and composer Ronald Bell died at the age of 69. This was reported by Tia Sinclair Bell with reference to the artist's wife and agent Variety.
Ronald Bell is one of the founders of the funk group Kool&the Gang. In 1978, the musicians received a "Grammy" in 1978 for the music for the film "Saturday Night Fever", which included their song Open Sesame. Kool & the Gang's music was also featured in the films "Pulp Fiction" and "Rocky".
Bell died at his home in the US Virgin Islands. It is not known what caused Bell's death. He is survived by 10 children and grandchildren.
