The first constituent meeting of the newly created Council of Investors was held in Odessa on September 13, the correspondent of the ElitExpert publication reports.
The round table gathered representatives of local authorities, officials and about 40 of the largest investors of the region, who became members of the Council. Among them are winemakers, stevedores, farmers, representatives of the banking sector, enterprises and other entrepreneurs.
Note that the Council of Investors was created by the order of the head of the Odesa Regional State Administration Serhiy Hrynevetskyi. It was headed by the deputy head of the OGA, Konstantin Goy.
The purpose of creating the Council of Investors is to develop and realize the investment potential of the Odesa region, increase the volume of foreign and national investments, support priority investment projects and improve the investment climate in the Odesa region, as well as ensure the protection of investors' rights.
As noted by the head of the Odesa regional council Hryhory Dydenko, the regional council is ready to work together with the regional state administration to make it comfortable for investors to work in the Odesa region, invest and develop it.
"Our goal is to create a positive investment climate. But in this process, it is very important for us to have feedback, to take into account the wishes of investors in order to set up the most profitable cooperation. As a person who came from business not so long ago, I clearly understand: this communication must be open and absolutely transparent," said the head of the Odesa Regional Council Hryhory Dydenko.
According to the co-chairman of the Investment Council Vadym Morokhovsky, this event is an exchange of opinions, receiving direct feedback from the largest market players, an opportunity for the authorities to talk in a single circle about who has already managed to build a solid large business.
"We tried as much as possible to attract to the Investment Council people who have a lot of experience, run a proper clean business, create new workplaces and can share their experience, suggest what needs to be fixed, where to move and how to develop our region. I think that together we will be able to overcome all difficulties. Our region has always been one of the best," Morokhovsky said.
During the first session, the authorities presented to the participants of the Council the work of the Odesa Regional State Administration, the Regional Development Agency in terms of creating an investment product and presented the project of a new format of the investment policy ProUkraine, which is being implemented in the Odesa Region with the support of the Office of the President.
According to the Secretary of the Investment Council, Director of the Department of Investment and Foreign Economic Activities, International Cooperation and Tourism of Odesa Oblast Roman Hrygoryshyn, the main tasks of the Investment Council are to provide the authorities with an opportunity to hear from successful and strong businessmen of the region their position and learn about glaring problems.
"Such communication should not be behind the scenes, but open and take place in the presence of all market players. It will also work to generalize the problems of large investors, and not to solve them point-by-point for individuals," he assured.
In addition, Hryhoryshyn said that this would be a platform for the exchange of opinions.
"We will be able to exchange opinions to understand whether we are thinking in the right direction as officials and project managers, whether we are moving in the right direction. Such experience will allow you to competently attract the next investors and effectively work with them. Thanks to the synergy of power and business, the work of the Investment Council will help to accumulate efforts for the advancement of the Odessa region. Local entrepreneurs will act as ambassadors of the region's investment policy. We want to get their support for the promotion of the Odesa region among their foreign partners and the countries where the capital of the investors themselves comes from," he said.
We will add that working meetings of representatives of regional authorities and investors are planned to be held monthly.
